Patrick Riley, 54, of Lumberton, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Born June 5, 1956, in Beaumont, to Doris Maida Riley and Jason Jackson Riley, Jr.; he had been a resident of Lumberton for the last eighteen years. For forty-two years, Pat was a faithful member at the Church of Christ that now meets at Dowlen Road. He served for about fifteen years as a deacon and then for eight years as an overseer of that Church. Pat also had many friends in Lumberton and at ExxonMobil where he worked for thirty-two years before retiring as a controls advisor. Pat was an avid golfer with a different golf swing for seemingly every day of the week. He was also an animal lover with a vivid imagination for the types of animals he claims to have seen on the golf course. Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Cathy, of Lumberton; son, Matthew Riley and his wife, Kim, of Austin; daughter, Kristin Baker and her husband, Dustin, of Nederland; brother, Jason J. Riley III and his wife, Susan, of Beaumont; sisters, Kathy Rogers and her husband, David, and Colleen Leviner all of Beaumont He is preceded in death by his parents. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Broussard’s. Memorial contributions may be made to Dowlen Road Church of Christ Library Fund, 3060 Dowlen Road Beaumont, Texas 77706. The family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone at Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care during the last days of his life.
