Marino C. Gernale, 68, of Beaumont died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. 

Born May 10, 1942, in Dagami Leyte, Phillipines to Conrado and Crispina Cabi-OC Gernale; he had been a resident of Beaumont for forty-two years.  He was a retired mechanical engineer with Chevron and a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.  He is currently employed by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his wife, Elisea Gernale; children, Caesar Gernale and his wife, Mary Jean, daughter-in-law, Analiza Gernale,  Charmaine Gernale, Christina Gernale, and Craig Gernale; grandchildren, Caesar Gernale, Jr., Clark Gernale, Celina Gernale, Xavier Gernale, and Andre Gernale; brothers, Dr. Virgilio Gernale and his wife, Betty and Perlo Gernale and his wife, Jessie; and a host of other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister; and son, Conrad Gernale.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011, with a gathering of his family and friends to follow, at Broussard’s.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys, Beaumont, Texas  77706-3240.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Christus St. Elizabeth ICU and Neuro Dept. along with Harbor Hospice for their compassion and care given to Marino.
