Robert W. Lytle 
May 22, 1921 - May 7, 2011

Robert W. Lytle, 89, of Lumberton, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Village Creek Rehab and Nursing Center.

 

Born May 22, 1921, in Crowley, Louisiana to Pearl Welch Lytle and Harry Frank Lytle, Sr.; Robert was a resident of Lumberton and was a retired superintendant with Reading and Bates. Prior to his failing health, Robert was an active supporter of the community where he was a member of the Lions Club of Lumberton and the Lumberton Athletic Booster Club. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Beaumont Lodge #286 A.F. & A.M.  He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.

 

Survivors include his sons, William Lytle and his wife Staci and Michael Lytle both of Lumberton; daughter, Evelyn McComas of Lumberton; four grandchildren, Natasha McComas, Hayden Lytle, Madison Lytle, and Mikenna Lytle; and brothers, W.A. Lytle and his wife Jackie and James Lytle and his wife Francis.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-four years, Marianne Lytle.

 

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be Monday, May 9, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
