Alpha Estelle Guy, 81, of Lumberton died Monday, May 2, 2011, at Village Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Lumberton.

Alpha was born in Miami, Florida and had lived most of her life in the Lumberton area.  She had worked as a night auditor at Red Carpet Inn and Howard Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Janette Jackson and her husband, James of Lumberton, Peggy Schmidt and her husband, Keith of Vidor, and George Dewey Guy, III and his wife, Paula Dee of Kountze; grandchildren, Robert Baskin and Stephanie Boudreaux, Jennifer, Courtney, and Kelsey Baskin, Justin and Sheena Jackson, Lindsey and John Hines, Kevin Schmidt and Brittany, Kristopher and Lindsey Schmidt, and Ross and Matthew Guy; great grandchildren, Elijah Pierre, Jakob and Kobly Jackson, Lily Mae, Bobbie Sue, and Hunter Schmidt, and Maddie Schmidt; and son-in-law, Benny F. Baskin.

Alpha is preceded in death by her husband, George Dewey Guy, Jr.; daughter, Rosanna Baskin; and parents, Clarence and Blanche Entrekin.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at Rest Lawn in Vidor under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
