James C. Kerr 
June 8, 1926 - April 30, 2011

James Coolidge Kerr, 84, of Nederland, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.  Born June 8, 1926, in Garrison, Texas, to Ada Irby and Walter Kerr, he was a resident of the area for many years and was a United States Navy Veteran. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and vegetable gardening.

 

He was preceded in death by is sister, Lucille Wilkerson of Nacogdoches.  James is survived by his son, James Kerr and his wife, Janna; daughters, Judy Milton and her husband, David, all of Nederland and Linda Byrd and her husband James of Nacogdoches; sisters, Tommie Carter of Nederland and Nancy Roy and her husband, Donald of Lake Charles, Louisiana; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

 

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.  A gathering of his family and friends will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.     

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beauxart Gardens Baptist Church, 8230 Holmes Road, Beaumont, Texas 77705.
