Ruth Hargrove, 94, of Kountze died Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Silsbee Convalescent Center.  A native and lifelong resident of Kountze, she was born May 28, 1916, to George and Birdie (Bell) Jordan.  She was the retired co-owner of H & H Cash Systems, a local supermarket in Kountze for over forty years. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Kountze.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Hargrove and his wife Susan of Houston; grandsons, Derek Hargrove, Todd Hargrove, Bobby Hargrove, and Ben Hargrove; and nine great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Hargrove; brothers, Van A. and Thomas Earl Jordan; and sisters, Aline Edgar and Inez Richardson.

Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011, at First United Methodist Church, 825 S. Pine, Kountze with burial to follow at McKinney Cemetery in Kountze under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 12:00 noon until service time at the church.
