Norma Lee Smith, 89, of Beaumont, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas.  She was born April 20, 1922, in Tuckerman, Arkansas to Homer David and Mamie Mae Skinner.  A resident of Beaumont for fifty-eight years, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, David W. Smith and his wife, Diane of Lumberton and Bobbie Jean Thompson of Beaumont; grandchildren, Shelly Dodson, Chris Smith and his wife, Tina, Garrick Dodson, Heather McGowen and her husband, Bryan, and Stacia Newton and her husband, John; great grandchildren, Kennedy Lomas, Ryan Smith, Katelyn Smith, Kyleigh McGowen, Bryson McGowen; half brother, David Skinner and his wife, Jesse; and numerous other family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Peyton A. Smith, son, Ronald E. Smith; and brother, Homer Skinner, Jr.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.  A gathering of her family and friends will be Monday, April 25, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m, at Broussard’s.
