Joe Roberts

Joe Roberts, 68, of Winnie, died April 5, 2011, at Joe retired from the petroleum industry as an oilfield operator, and was a resident of Port Bolivar for over thirty years, moving to Winnie in 2009. After retirement, he worked with TXDOT on the Bolivar ferry, and was employed at the Sealy and Smith Foundation. His primary focus was his grandchildren, who were the center of his life. Mr. Roberts was an Army veteran, and a member of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife, Laverne Roberts of Winnie; son, Joseph “Bubba” Roberts and his wife Denise of Winnie; daughters, Sandra Kay Bouse of Texas City and Kimberly Ann Charpiot and her husband Brant of Winnie; brother, Charles Roberts of Galveston; sister, Barbara Quiroga and her husband Joe of Galveston; grandchildren, Billy Bouse, Jr. and his wife Kelley, Valerie Delbosque and her husband Mike, Lacie Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Kelli Jones, Brooke Charpiot, and Maci Charpiot; and great-grandchildren, Diesel Delbosque, Gage Delbosque, Kylie Rogers, Hallie Rogers, Braden Bouse, Masen Bouse and Skye Martinez. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Attwood and Charles L. Roberts; brother, David Lee Waters; and grandson, Ryan Hamilton Jones. |
