Kathleen Smith Neff, 84, of Beaumont, died Monday, April 4, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

A native and lifelong resident of the Beaumont area, Kathleen was born November 4, 1926, to Helen Von Hagen Smith and Harry Smith.

She was a member of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica and loved her sewing club. Kathleen adored her kids, grand-kids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids and as a mother of five boys, her wisdom and loving nature will be missed.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas E. Neff, Jr. and his wife Linda of Silsbee, Mark C. Neff and John G. Neff and his wife Patricia all of Lumberton and Patrick E. Neff of Beaumont; devoted daughter-in-law, Katherine Neff of Beaumont; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; and her loving friend, Shirley Brown.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Thomas Neff, Sr.; son, David H. Neff; and daughter-in-law, Erica Neff.

A Christian Vigil will be 6:00 p.m. with a gathering of her family and friends to follow Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium at a later date.
