Laura "Tootsie" Premeaux, 87, of Nederland, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.  Born June 8, 1923, to Anite Viator and Rene Bourque, she was a lifelong resident of the area. Laura enjoyed crocheting and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, Presley Premeaux of Nederland; daughter, Diane E. Hejduk and her husband Les of Nederland; sons, James Premeaux and his wife Amelia of Pearland and Wayne Premeaux of Humble; former daughter-in-law, Reba Premeaux of Livingston; grandchildren, Westley Authement, Carl Authement, Ben Premeaux, Beth Premeaux, Danyell French, Michael Premeaux, Dana Tellup and Doug Premeaux; and great grandchildren, Violet, Miles, Skyler, Brice, Madelyn, Michael, Gabriel, Brenda, Robyn, Joshua and Elizabeth.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents; son, Dayne Andrew Premeaux; one sister; and six brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2011, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  A gathering of her family and friends will be Sunday, April 3, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a scriptural rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
