Dr. Jack L. Smith, 85, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

Born June 23, 1925, in Brownsville, to Druzilla Ann Line Smith and Matt Curry Smith; Dr. Smith had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1956.  He retired in 1990 as a Pathologist with Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont and was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Aline Smith of Beaumont; son, Alan Smith of Beaumont; son-in-law, Rob Crenshaw of Friendswood; granddaughter, Heather Hyde of Friendswood; and great grandson, Phoenix Hyde.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity on one’s choice.
