Ray Strickland 
November 1, 1942 - March 28, 2011

Ray Strickland, 68, of Port Neches, died Monday, March 28, 2011.  Born November 1, 1942 to Monnie Miller an Samuel D. Strickland in Burkeville, he was a long time resident of Port Neches.  Ray was a retired mechanic at the Dupont refinery for 35 years.  He also was an avid fan of Nascar, golfing and fishing. 

 

Ray is survived by his wife, Jeannene Strickland of Port Neches; son, Jerry Strickland, Jr. and his wife Erica of  Livingston, Montana; daughter, Kimbra Stone and her husband Ricky of Port Neches; grandchildren, Kendra Gray and her husband Joshua of Port Neches, Sarah Strickland and Nathan Strickland of Livingston, Montana and Jeremy and Joshua Bowie of Port Neches; great grandchild, Kensley Gray; brother, S.D. Strickland and his wife Ruth of Bridge City; sisters, Yvonne Davis of Dallas and Maxine Bynum of Alexandria, Louisiana.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Monnie and Samuel Strickland; daughter, Regina Rae Strickland; and son, Gregg Bowie.

 

His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2011 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Broussard’s.
