David Lovett, 47, of Houma, Louisiana, died Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma.  Born December 27, 1963 to Betty Brassieur and John William Lovett, he was a resident of the area until 1981.  David was employed as a welder and pipefitter for Maritime Shipyard.  He was a United States Navy veteran, having served during Desert Storm. 

David is survived by his father, J.W. Lovett and his wife Betty of LaBelle; brothers, John Lovett, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Nederland and Mike Lovett and his wife Brenda of Raleigh, North Carolina; two nieces; and two nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lovett.

A graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, 3098 Highway 69 North, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.
