May Kelley Proper, 87, of Lumberton, died Sunday, March 6, 2011. She was born August 26, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Edward and Ethel Wohlfahrt Kelley.

Survivors include husband, Bernard Proper; children, Alfred Robert Proper and his wife Nancy of Arlington, Zeta May Arnold and her husband Kenneth of Tye, and Karen Beard and her husband Fred of Beaumont; grandchildren, Glenn, Gary, Timothy, Bernard, and Kelly; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Kelley, Arthur Kelley, and Earl Kelley; and sisters, Beatrice Smith and Loreen Dickinson.

A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
