Gertrude “Aunt Gertie” Tallarita, 81, of Beaumont, died Sunday, March 6, 2011. Born April 19, 1929, to Rose Capo Tallarita and Mario Tallarita, she was a lifelong resident of Beaumont. Gertrude worked at the Whitehouse for almost forty years and was a devoted worker, sister, and aunt.

Survivors include her brother, Labo Tallarita of Beaumont; sister, Margaret Tallarita; and nieces and nephews, Barbara Marino and her husband Frank of Houston, Margaret Rose Davies of Houston, Roseanne Provost and her husband Don of Arlington, Texas, Tommy Lomonte of Tiki Island, Chuck Lomonte and his wife Rhonda, Paula Mitchell and her husband Sonny, Marion Tallarita and his wife Susan, and Johnny Tallarita and his wife Kathy, all of Beaumont.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Frances Pizzolato, Agnes Tallarita, Carlis Carroll, and Mary Katherine Lomonte.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Barbara Smith and the staff at Angel’s Loving  Home Care in Beaumont.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
