Guyanell Hughes, 88, of Beaumont, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.

Born February 28, 1923, in Ducette, to Sue Estell James Moore and Willard Roddye Moore; Guyanell had been a resident of the Beaumont area most of her life.  She enjoyed fishing and spending time at the beach.

Survivors include her sons, Larry Jones and his wife Patsy of Humble and Buddy Hughes and his wife Jo Ann of Sour Lake; daughter, Jerry Lynn McLehany of Beaumont; grandchildren, Patrick Jones and his wife Linda, Troy McLehany, Robin Murphy and her husband Todd, Jason Hughes, Jessica Hughes and Justin Hughes and his wife Julie; great grandchildren, Megan McLehany, Audrey Jones, Abbey Jones, Brianna Hughes, Kolt Hughes, Christian Plaisance, Jake Murphy, Tyler Murphy and Ella Grace Murphy; brother, Ken Moore of Houston; sister, Helen Hallmark of Nederland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud Hughes; brothers, Cecil Moore and Jack Moore; and sister, Hazel Wigley.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 12:00 Noon until time of service Wednesday at Broussard’s.
