Bobie Joe Maywald, 86, of Hamshire, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.

Born in Cameron, Texas, he lived in Beaumont most of his life.  For the past twenty-five years, he lived on his farm in the Hamshire area.  Bobie was born July 17, 1924, to Minnie Lee Bamburg Maywald and Robert Roy Maywald.  He was a retired Lab Technician with Mobil Oil and a United States Army veteran.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Anne Beadle and her husband Drew of Fannett, Catherine Denise DeVersa and her husband Joe of Beaumont and Mari Lynn Myers of Humble; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Weiler and her husband Bob of Savannah, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lurlene Maywald; sister, Rosa Lee Solleder; brother, Charles Maywald; and his parents.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Broussard's.
