Davis Joshua Cassel III, 68, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in Austin, Texas after a brief illness. He was born February 1, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Lois and Davis J. Cassel II.  Davis was a physical therapist and a United States Air Force veteran.

A talented photographer, he had many other hobbies such as hunting, fishing, target shooting and watching musical movies.  Most of all he enjoyed crabbing with his son Chris and watching football.

Survivors include his sons, Chris Cassel and his wife Laura of Beaumont and Davis J. Cassel IV of Sacramento, California; daughters, Zana Hall and her husband Scott of Liberty Hill, Dani Cassel of Yuba City, California and Jenny Jones and her husband O.J. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, Stephanie, Tiffany, Alyssa, O.J., Jr., Brayson,  Logan, and Ashley; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Kaleb, Anthony, Nathan and Tiana; sisters, Beverly Rogers of Corpus Christi  and Susan Nash; and his former wife and close friend of thirty-four years, Barbara Cassel of Beaumont. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Jeffrey, Jr.

Davis was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather.

His graveside service will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at Broussard’s.
