R. G. Jordan 
July 5, 1923 - February 28, 2011

R.G. Jordan, 87, of Pine Ridge died Monday, February 28, 2011, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.  A native and lifelong resident of Pine Ridge, he was born July 5, 1923, to James B. and Dora (Reavis) Jordan.  He was a retired machinist with Mobil Refinery in Beaumont and proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the 124th anti-aircraft mobile battalion and also served in the battles at Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was a longtime member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon for many years.

 

Survivors include his children, Glenda Ruth Brown of San Antonio, Thomas James Jordan and his wife Linda of Lake Jackson, George Dale Jordan and his wife Martha of Sour Lake, and Alice Mae Johnston and her husband Hal of Sour Lake; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one step-great grandchild.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Johnie Mae Jordan; brother, Earl Jordan; and sisters, Neicle Rankin, Ruby Mae Rankin, Alma Baize, Recie McDonald, and Reba Keith.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 13430 FM 421, Kountze with burial to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, March 3, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the church.
