Margie Harris Lee, 78, of Sour Lake, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 27, 2011. A native of Romayor, Texas she was born on July 13, 1932, to Mary Crook Allen and Horace Allen. Margie was a member of First Christian Church for over thirty years and will be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy Harris and his wife Elaine of Sour Lake, Nita Craft of Houston, Danny Harris and Joy of Portland, Oregon, Sarah Johnson and her husband Gary of Sour Lake, and Jennie White and her husband Greg of Cypress; step-daughter, Stacy Allen and her husband Shane of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Gloria Sanders, Travis Harris, Laurie Stulce, Derek Cook, Brandy Kendall, Danielle White and Jake White; seven great-grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Lucy.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at First Christian Church, 175 Mitchell Street, Sour Lake, with burial to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, under the direction the Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Broussard’s.
