Bruce Wayne Borel died Sunday, February 27, 2011, in San Antonio at the age of 71.  He was born March 20, 1939, in Beaumont to Alfred and Esther Borel.  Bruce worked for AT&T as a telephone repair technician in Houston for twenty-five years before retiring in 1990.   Bruce is survived by his God-daughter and caregiver, Lexie Brown Granderson and her husband David and their sons, Nicholas and Jacob of San Antonio; God-son, Bruce J. Brown and his wife Rachel and their children, Sydney and Alex of Missouri City; best friends, Raymond and Ina Brown of Houston; sister, Carol Bennett and her husband Ronnie and family of Beaumont; and many other family and friends at Village Oaks of Hollywood Park.   He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Esther Borel.  

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2011, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
