Edgar Joseph Lacoste, Jr., 75, of Beaumont, died February 21, 2011 at Dubuis Hospital Beaumont.  Born August 31, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana and resident of Beaumont for many years, he was the son of Rene Neal Lacoste and Edgar J. Lacoste, Sr.   Edgar served in the United States Naval Reserve and was a graduate of Southeast Louisiana College. He was an industrial supply salesman with Sanitary Supply in Beaumont.

Throughout his life he devoted his time to many organizations and groups. He was Vice President of the Civitan Club, Lafayette, Louisiana, founder of SAAM’s Club, St. Anne’s Parish. He served time on the original Building Committee and Parish Counsel for St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Vice Chairman on Financial Committee for YMCA and American Cancer/Heart Association.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Lacoste of Beaumont; son, Blaire Lacoste and his wife Loriann of Tampa Bay, Florida; daughter, Barbara Salemi and her husband Phil of San Antonio; sister, Yvonne Lacoste Maumus; and grandson, Brendon Paul Lacoste.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Rodney James Lacoste.

A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service, Thursday at Broussard’s. Following the memorial service, family and friends are invited for a gathering at the Lacoste residence. The committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
