John Thomas Dooley, 70, of Beaumont, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Mary in Port Arthur. He was born on July 12, 1940, to Loretta Cummings and Henry Dooley in Washington, Pennsylvania. A United States Marine Corps veteran, John served our country during the Vietnam War and retired after twenty-six years of service.

Survivors include his children, Carol Alfaro, Kathleen White and her husband Lee, Sean Dooley and Justin Dooley, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Anne

White, Cliffton Garrett, Peter Marcantel, Jaqulyn Garrett and Tiffany Marcantel; and brothers, Frank Dooley, and Bill Dooley and his wife Roberta.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Haruko Dooley; and sister, Cathy Glazebrook of Tucson, Arizona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont. A graveside service will be Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Christian Vigil will be at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Broussard’s.
