Willie Judson LaGrone, 77, of Colmesneil, formerly of Nederland, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011.  He was born on October 1, 1933, to Mabel Viona Pike and Hiram Clark LaGrone.  Willie was a graduate of Lamar University with a Masters degree. He was also a retired Band Director with South Park High School and an educator with the Beaumont Independent School District as a teacher of Aerospace.  Willie also participated in the local Beaumont Symphony.  In addition to his love for music and education, he was a retired Chief Pilot for Jefferson County Mosquito Control. 

Willie is survived by his wife, Minnette Allen LaGrone of Colmesneil; son, Willie C. LaGrone and his wife Dagmar of Port Acres; daughter, Susan Kay Huggins of Lumberton; brother, Don LaGrone of Houston; sister, Norma Jean Love of Houston; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. 

His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street in Nederland, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011, at Broussard’s.
