Amelia Marie Leger, 97, of Winnie died February 8, 2011, at the Arboretum Nursing Home of Winnie.

A native of Iowa, Louisiana Mrs. Leger livid in the Winnie area since 1938, and was a life long member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons, Jerrell Leger and his wife Ruth of Winnie, Elroy Leger and his wife Jeanette of Arlington; daughters, Irma Simon and her husband, Dalton and Joyce Miller and her husband Wilbert all of Winnie, Beverly Guidry and her husband David of Fannett; grandchildren, Cindy Jones, Stephanie Simon, Tony Simon, Ramona Miller, Mike Simon, Jody Simon, James Miller, Debbie Miller, Kyle Miller, Pam Hargraves, Buddy Miller, Donna Biggs, Scott Guidry, Jack Guidry, Stacie Langlinais, John Leger, Doug Leger, Norman Leger; great-grandchildren, Daphne LeLeaux, Casey Jones, Jesse Simon, Buck Miller, Paige Miller, Cameron Simon, Sarah Simon, Zachary Clark, Lester Perrin, Brian Perrin, Russell Hargraves, Christa Hargraves, Chelsea Miller, Nathaniel Miller, Jason Vandiver, Billy Joe Menard, Coy Robinson, Lexia Biggs, Carlee Guidry, Christopher Guidry, Sean Guidry, Racquel Langlinais, Luke Langlinais, Jacob Langlinais, Joshua Leger, Kara Leger, Hannah Beam, Allison Beam, Emily Beam, Ben Leger, Nick Leger; great-great-grandchildren, Dustin LeLeaux, Joshua LeLeaux, McKenzie LeLeaux, Kadince Jones, David Warthen, Blaine Perrin, Gavan Perrin, Noah Perrin and numerous other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 W. Buccaneer Drive with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of her family and friends will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
