Beverly Lisenby Morris went to be with her Lord on February 7, 2011, at the Arboretum of Winnie.
She was born in Matador, Texas on July 7, 1937, to Lewis and Ola Garner Lisenby. On December 22, 1957, she married George V. “Butch” Morris in her hometown of Turkey, Texas. Shortly afterwards they moved to Hamshire, Texas and raised their family in the Hamshire-Fannett area. Beverly retired from the Hamshire-Fannett Independent School District to join her husband and son-in-law in the insurance business. She was active in many church and civic organizations and enjoyed traveling. Her favorite times were spent with her family and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by daughter, Kelly Leigh Morris; husband, George V. “Butch” Morris; mother, Ola Garner Lisenby; father, Lewis Lisenby; grandmother, Mary Black “Phoebe” Garner.
She is survived by daughter, Kemper Morris Gibson and her son-in-law James; granddaughter, Leigh Gibson; grandson, Dallas Gibson; brothers, Clayton Lisenby and his wife Evelyn and Paul Lisenby; sister–in-laws, Alice Morris and Esther Gray and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Hope Lutheran Church, 1322 9th Street with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Broussard’s.
