Michael "Mike" C. Watson 
March 3, 1955 - February 6, 2011

Mike Watson, 55, of Nederland, died Sunday, February 6, 2011, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.  Born March 3, 1955, in Beaumont to Martha Hext Cobb and Bobby David Watson, Mike was a lifelong resident of Nederland. He worked as a carpenter for Port Neches ISD and also owned and operated Watson Builders. Mike enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing.  He loved his family and cooking for them and will be remembered as a man who enjoyed bringing happiness to others.

 

Survivors include his wife of eighteen years, Karen Watson of Nederland; son, Tyler Watson of Port Arthur; daughter, Lindsey Watson of Houston; step-children, Lindsay Darcey of Port Neches and Jeremy Gentile and his wife Michaelyn of Winnie; mother, Martha Hext Cobb and her husband Larry; sister, Marilyn Eldridge and her husband Rex of Spurger; brothers, Gary Cobb and his wife Laurie of Sherman and Jeff Cobb and his wife Christi of Nederland; grandchildren, Desire’ and Jillian Gentile; nephew, Chad Sage; and nieces, Misty Watson and Brandy Walker. Mike is preceded in death by his father, Bobby David Watson; and brother, Roger David Watson.

 

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.   A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Broussard’s.
