Lona Mae Thompson, 77, of Silsbee died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at her residence.   She was born February 6, 1933, in Silsbee to John Wesley and Lillie Mae (Smith) Cotton and had lived in Silsbee most of her life.  She was a longtime member of First Pentecostal Church in Silsbee.

She is survived by her children, Linda Knott and her husband Joe of West Columbia, Robert Thompson and his wife Deanna of Knoxville, Tennessee, L.D. Thompson and his wife Pinn of Silsbee, Pat Hollister and her husband Ron of Silsbee, and Reverend Tim Thompson and his wife Krisha of Highlands; daughter-in-law, Jean Thompson of Silsbee; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; sisters, Anna Mae McDonald of Mauriceville and Louise Memaw of Sour Lake; and brother, Clint Cotton of San Antonio.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, D.C. Thompson; grandson, Michael Thompson; and sons, Wendel Paul Thompson and Charles Thompson.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at First Pentecostal Church, Hwy. 92 North, Silsbee with Reverend Homer Looper officiating.  Burial will follow at R. S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Broussard's in Silsbee.  A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, January 31, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the church.
