Linda Land, 59, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, in Houston. Born November 10, 1951, in Columbus, Georgia, she graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Her career with DuPont spanned thirty-seven years.  Linda moved to Beaumont in 1978 and was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her parents, James Edward and Helen Land of Birmingham, Alabama; daughter, Victoria Louie and her husband Stewart of Houston; son, Andrew Vierling of Beaumont; grandchild, Canaan Louie of Houston; sister, Judy West and her husband Gary of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Ed Land and his wife Allyson of Decatur, Alabama; nieces, Marilyn West and Adrienne West both of Huntsville, Alabama; and niece, Carson Land of Decatur, Alabama.  Linda will also be lovingly remembered by her many friends and extended family. 

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.  A reception for family and friends will follow the service in the Cloister Room at St Mark’s.
