Betty Calhoun McNeel, 74, of Silsbee died Sunday, January 23, 2011, at her residence.

She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a homemaker.

Betty is survived by her children, Marty Bingham of Silsbee, Lee McNeel, III of Colorado, Diana Carter and her husband Joseph, Sheila Bruce, and Adella Tatom all of Silsbee; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Lenora Web of Jacksonville and Melba Gore of Silsbee; brother, Barry Calhoun of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee McNeel, Jr.; son, Curtis “Buck” McNeel; parents, Frank and Gladys Calhoun; three brothers and two sisters.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at R. S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee.  A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, January 26, 2011, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
