Patsy Lou Stone, 71, of Lumberton, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at Deerbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Humble. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born May 2, 1939, to Louise Sonnier and Floyd Rainwater.
Pat was a devote Christian, and despite many struggles in her lifetime, she always held fast to her belief in God. Known for her beautiful alto voice Pat could always bring comfort through her message of song.
Survivors include her children, Johnny W. Stone, Jr. of Vidor, Theresa L. Stone of Lumberton, and Shelia R. Austin of Crosby; grandchildren, Jonathon Stone, Zachary Stone, Hanna Stone, Quentin Stone, Lonnie Pafford and Vanessa Pafford; and her brother, Louis Rainwater and his wife Ann of California.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glenn Rainwater; sister, Beverly McKneely; and her grandson, Lance Pafford.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 20, 2011, at The Apostolic Church, 3333 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Broussard’s.
