Mary Jean Sherrill, 65, of Winnie, died January 14, 2011, at the Southeast Texas Regional Medical Center of Port Arthur.

A native of Dalhart, Mary Jean had lived in the Winnie area since 1947.

She is survived by her husband, Rusty Sherrill of Winnie; sons, Ray Ruff and his wife Patricia of Winnie, Patrick Ruff and his wife Kim of Orangefield and Steven Ruff; brothers, Allen Cathey of Winnie and Paul Cathey and his wife Suzanne of Louisiana; sisters, Nancy Carter and her husband John Tom and Wanda Bryce and her husband Lonnie all of Winnie; grandchildren, Austin Ruff, Balise Ruff, Logan Ruff and Max Ruff; and numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Winnie, 120 E. Pear, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Broussard’s.
