Sara Rose Barrow, 80, of High Island, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at Winnie Community Hospital.

A native of Waxahachie, Mrs. Barrow had lived in High Island since 1951, and was a retired teacher with the High Island Independent School District.

She is survived by her step-son, Harold Gene Barrow of High Island; step-daughter, Virginia Sullivan; brothers, Rex Harris of Mansfield and Kenneth Harris of High Island; sister, Eloise Wynn of Mansfield; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie, with burial to follow at High Island Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Broussard’s.
