Brenda Jean Blaylock/Rice, 58, of Nome, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011. She was born October 2, 1952, in Houston, to Carmenell Marshall and Samuel Jake Marino, and had been a resident of the Beaumont area most of her life.  Brenda was manager over the meat department with Wal-Mart in Groves.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Lennis Rice of Nome; sons, Dwayne Taylor and his wife Sharon of Nome, Bo Rice and his wife Amanda of Hemphill; daughters, Shelly Kerbersky and her husband Daniel of China, Misty Stratton and her husband Alan of Nome, and Krenda Rice of Austin; brothers, Samuel Marino and his wife Mindy of Nome, Kimmy Marino and his wife Beckie of Pittsburgh, Texas, and Dale Marino of Houston; sisters, Ava Marino of Houston, and Cheryl Marino of Nome; twelve grandchildren; and her faithful companion and dog, Gizmo.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at China Cemetery. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011, at Broussard’s.
