John “Johnny” Stalnaker, Jr., 68, of Port Neches died January 2, 2011 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur.  Born April 7, 1942 in Fairmont, West Virginia and resident of the area for forty-five years, Johnny was the son of Roxie Faye Jordan and John Alfred Stalnaker, Sr.   He was a United States Army veteran and was a welder with Burton Shipyard.

 A western guy, Johnny owned and rode horses.  He liked to go hunting, was a history buff, avid reader and loved his family.

He is survived by wife, Earlene Stalnaker; children, Dale Louis Files and his wife Traci, Sheryl Ann Rasmussun, Ronnie Files and his wife Norma, and Stuna Marie Trahan and      her husband Brian; brothers, Bill Stalnaker and his wife Barbara, Richard Stalnaker and his wife Rose; sister, Rachel Sloan; eleven  grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.
