Wilson Joseph Wright, 88, of China, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010.  A native of Port Barre, Louisiana and had been a resident of the Beaumont area most of his life, Wilson was born March 8, 1922, to Lena Matte Wright and Oscar Wright.  He was a retired pipefitter with Local Union #195 and was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served in World War II.

Wilson enjoyed playing his accordion and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his sons, Tommy Wright and his wife Delta of Beaumont and Rayford Wright and his wife Marie all of Toledo Bend area; daughter, Deborah Mathew and her husband Doug of LaBelle; sisters, Lillian Whitman of Vidor and Roberta Holmes of Bourne; six grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Freda Wright; parents, Lena and Oscar Wright; grandchildren, Pamela Wright, Margaret Wright and Lance Mathew; and brothers, Roosevelt Wright and George Wright.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2010, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 W. Highway 90, China with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A Rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Broussard’s.
