Nancy Jane Broussard 
May 22, 1935 - December 18, 2010

Nancy Broussard, 75, of Beaumont, died Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Dowlen Oaks after a brief illness. A native of Houston, Nancy had retired from AMOCO Pipeline when she moved to Beaumont in 1975, and had served as the longtime church secretary for Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  She was active in the life of her church, Some Other Place and was an Ambassador for the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce.

 

Music was always a constant in Nancy’s life.  She loved singing and participated with Sweet Adelines for decades.  One of her many ladies quartets, the “Synco-Pets” even won a national competition in 1961.  Nancy also had enjoyed playing the accordion of which she had also given lessons.

 

Nancy is survived by her two daughters; Susan Aiena and her husband Mark of Beaumont, and Liz Simmons of Gloucester, Virginia; two sons, Bobby Broussard of Silsbee and John Wayne Broussard and his wife Jackie of Fort Worth; a brother, Marvin Aardal and his wife Marjorie of Frisco, Texas; five grandsons including Mark Aiena, Jr. and John Broussard; nieces and nephews, Marilyn Sizemore and her husband Frank, and Jonathan Aardal and his wife Kimberly; and numerous other cousins.

 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 777 N. 4th Street in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont, with her interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Broussard's.
