Fletcher Nelson Weeks 
May 6, 1946 - December 8, 2010

Fletcher Nelson Weeks, 64, of Port Arthur died December 8, 2010 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah.  Born May 6, 1946 in Jasper, he was a resident of Port Arthur since 1969. Mr. Weeks was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a tanker man in the petroleum industry and enjoyed gardening, traveling and pruning trees. He absolutely loved his family, grandchildren and family history.

 

Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Lisa Weeks of Port Arthur; daughters, Joni Thacker Rowley and her husband Clifton of Provo, Utah and Amy Jeffrey and her husband John of Groves; sons, Paul Thacker of Port Neches and Daniel Weeks and his wife Kristy of Port Arthur; mother, Margie Weeks of Lufkin; brother, C. Michael Weeks of Lufkin; and six grandchildren, Corey, Spencer, Kayme, and Adam Rowley and Blake and Leah Jeffrey; brother and sisters-in-laws, Sam and Laura Mutrux and Kevin and Celina Cook; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Weeks and sister, Carolyn Weeks.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3939 Turtle Creek Drive, Port Arthur under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  Graveside services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Hemphill A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday morning before the service from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.
