Marie Wood, 80, of Port Arthur, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, at her residence.  Born September 26, 1930, in Lake Charles, to Laura Bushnell and David Hebert, she had been a resident of Port Arthur for the last sixty years.

Marie was the co-owner of Wright Electric Company in Port Neches for thirty years.  She will be remembered as a woman who loved her family.  Mrs. Wood enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and painting.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Billy Wood of Port Arthur; sons, Charles Edward Wood and his wife Mary, Mike Wood and his wife Lisa, all of Port Neches; daughter; Susan M. Tomplait of Nederland; grandchildren, Stacy Baker, John Wood, Adam Tomplait, and Brent Wood; great-grandchildren, Darian and Zachary Baker.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and one sister.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2010, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland, followed by a burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.  A gathering of her family and friends will be Sunday, December 12, 2010, from 5:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
