Patricia Jo (Trish) Carter Hamilton passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at home surrounded by the great love of her family. Trish was born December 18, 1966, in Beaumont, Texas. She was the daughter of Patty Mitchell Carter Rayburn and Reagan H. Carter and a loving wife to Richard E. Hamilton.

A life-long resident of Beaumont, Trish received bachelor degrees in Real Estate and Business from Lamar University. Her formal education was important, but it was life growing up on the family ranch that laid the groundwork for the storybook tale of a young woman with an incredible passion for animals. This passion led to a lifetime devotion of raising and showing Quarter horses, and enabled her to intertwine career, hobby, and family on a daily basis. Trish treasured each day of the week, whether it was at the clinic, in the barn, or on the road.  Her gracious and gentle demeanor led to the many friendships she made along the way; friendships that were solid, true and genuine. Trish’s unwavering faith in God, courageous ambition and relentless pursuit of normalcy was an incredible inspiration to her family and friends as she battled cancer for nearly a decade. Although our friend often exhibited great appreciation for efforts made on her behalf, it was actually she that enriched our lives so immensely. Her role as daughter, wife, aunt and friend brought her great joy.

Her kind heart and unequivocal love for animals led to a long-time career in the veterinary medicine field. As an employee of Fannett Veterinary Clinic, Trish undoubtedly considered each of her co-workers part of her family. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Reagan H. Carter; grandparents, Poley and Myrtle Mitchell, and Jo and Harold Carter.  She is survived by her husband, Richard Hamilton and his son Ryan Hamilton; mother, Patricia J. Mitchell Carter Rayburn and her husband Bill; sister, Toni Carter Spencer and her daughter Katie Nicole Spencer; brother, Reagan Tye Carter and his children, Megan and Robbie Carter as well as a loving extended family of in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends she considered her family. 

Family and friends are invited to attend Trish’s funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.  There will be a gathering of her family and friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, at Broussard’s.
