John Henry Pagan, Jr. 
February 6, 1931 - December 6, 2010

John Henry Pagan, Jr., 79, of Beaumont, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010.  A native of Goose Creek, he was born February 6, 1931, to Mable Jane (Ruyle) Pagan and John Henry Pagan.

 

A lifelong teacher, John Henry began his career in Port Neches. He taught at Lamar University as well as Beaumont Independent School District where he was a long time teacher at French High School and Central Middle School.  A model airplane enthusiast, he was a charter member of the Beaumont Radio Control Club and a Life member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. He and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada instructing other hobbyists. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, John Henry loved his church family.  He was also a United States Army veteran.

 

Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Carroll Pagan of Beaumont; son, Brett Patrick Pagan of Katy; daughter, Stephani Waters of Harlingen; son John Christopher Pagan of Clearlake; sister, Pat Hutter of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and several grandchildren. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Michael Pagan; and grandson, Jonathan Pagan.

 

His memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

 

In lieu of flowers, John’s family would like for memorial contributions to be made to the Missions Ministry, care of Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont
