Mary Louise Delahoussaye 
February 5, 1930 - December 5, 2010

Mary Louise Broussard Delahoussaye, 80, of Port Arthur died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. She was born February 5, 1930, in Port Arthur, to Louis Alex and Elsie (Benton) Broussard, and was a lifetime resident of the area.

 

Mary enjoyed cooking, babysitting, dancing and watching John Wayne movies.  She was a happy, friendly person who never met a stranger and loved to entertain, especially at holidays. She was a devoted Catholic who loved to pray the Rosary and spent many hours praying for the special needs of others.

 

She is survived by her children, Dr. Keith Joseph Delahoussaye of Port Arthur, Karl Delahoussaye and his wife Ginger Lea of Deer Park, Faye Dismukes of Nederland, and Karla Barron and her husband John of Port Arthur; son-in-law, Daniel Dismukes of Nederland; nine grandchildren, Christopher Dismukes, Amy Jenkins, Danielle Brasher, KayeLynn Faw, Mindy Delahoussaye, Michael Dismukes, Kara Delahoussaye, Rachel Barron, and John David Barron; four great grandchildren; brothers, Warren Broussard and his wife Ann, and Cecil Broussard all of Port Arthur. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Delahoussaye; brother, J.C. Broussard; and sister, Lou Acton.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010, at St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Delahoussaye, Karl Delahoussaye, Danny Dismukes, Johnny Barron, Henry Flanagan, Bobby Joe Broussard,  Chris Dismukes, Michael Dismukes, Kevin Blanton, and John David Barron as honorary pallbearer. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, December 8, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:45 p.m. at Broussard’s.
