Lee Roy Turner 
May 11, 1916 - December 3, 2010

Lee Roy Turner, 94, of High Island died December 3, 2010, at Winnie Community Hospital.

 

Lee Roy retired from Galveston County Road and Bridge and was a lifelong resident of High Island. He was a previous owner, for 21 years, of the Mobil Service Station in High Island and a former High Island ISD board member. He was known for his gardening, raising cattle, and trapping.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 5, 2010, at St. Matthews United Methodist Church in High Island, with burial to follow at High Island Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s in Winnie.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Lynda Bobino of High Island, Mary Jo Bergeron and her husband, Dale of Hamshire; half brother, Curtis Dailey of Winnie; grandchildren, Paul Bobino and his wife Sabrina, Candyce Tompkins and Jacque Bergeron and his fiancé, Jori; great-grandchildren, Cole Tompkins, Camryn Tompkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Turner; father, Overton Turner; mother, Josie Wilrycx Turner; and baby brother, Harold Turner.
