Lillie Leschber Kattner completed her life’s journey here on earth and is now in her Heavenly home.  Lillie passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of 28 November 2010 after 92 very good years.  Lillie was born on the 11th of June 1918 in the small farming community of Thorndale, Texas.  She has spent most of her life in the Nederland, Texas area where Lillie was a good neighbor to many, a NISD cafeteria worker for many years and she was active in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland.  Her family was the love of her life and later in her years, her six great grandchildren became “MeMe’s” real joy in life.

Lillie is survived by her son, Max Kattner and his wife Sandy of Houston, who was her “Guardian Angel” in her later years; granddaughters, Kathy Melton and her husband Dan and their children, Jacob, Kierstynn and Kaitlynn all of Pflugerville and Karen Center and her husband Brian and their daughters Brooke and Gracyn of Garwood; grandson, Raymond C. Kattner and his son Jordan of Willis; sisters-in-law, Francis Hebert and Dorothy Leschber; and many special cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lillie in death was her husband, Raymond Kattner; son, Gary; her parents, Hermann and Matilda Leschber; brothers, Harry and Arnold Leschber; sisters-in-law, Allene Leschber and Lorena Taylor; and brothers-in-law, Alfred Kattner and Johnny Reese.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches with Pastor Francis Schroeder of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.
