Edith Marie Hilderbrand Cheshire, 89, of Kountze, died Monday, November 22, 2010 at Village Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lumberton.

Born August 22, 1921, in Missouri to Gladys Evans Hilderbrand and Herbert Lee Hilderbrand; Edith had been a resident of Kountze most of her life.

Survivors include her sister, Mildred Faye Thomas of Silsbee; son, Gerald Cheshire and his wife Regeina of Stanton, Missouri; daughter, Phyllis Eastham and her husband Wes of Beach City; ten grandchildren, Pam Tennison, Allen Coe, Katina Thibodeaux, Brandon Cheshire, Candee Choate, Courtney Cheshire, Ashton Cheshire, Scott Cheshire, Amber Bowman and Hali Eastham; and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, J.C. Cheshire; daughter, Sandra Coe; sons, Ralph “Doug” Cheshire, J.C. Cheshire, Jr. and Kenneth Cheshire.

Her funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010,   at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon prior to the service at Broussard’s.  A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Village Mills Cemetery.
