Eloise Claunch, 96, of Vidor, died Friday, November 19, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. She was born November 8, 1914, in McHenry, Mississippi, to Molly McDevitt and Joseph Beverly. She was a school teacher in the public schools.

Survivors include her three daughters, Mary Iris Stone and her husband John of Gilroy, California, Susan Weems and her husband Lloyd of Wildwood, and Jerri Ann Hyden of Vidor; sister, Essie Johnson of Gulfport, Mississippi; six grandchildren, John Jefferson Stone, III, Montie Cassa Claunch, Zoie Elana Elizabeth Moran, Valdee Lloyd Weems, II, Sarah Mary Eloise Brandin and her husband Neal, and Cody Travis Hyden; and two great-grandchildren, Valrie Sage Weems and Michael Travis Hyden.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Terrell Cassa Claunch; and son, Terrell Cassa Claunch, Jr.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, 501 North Main Street, Vidor, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
