James Allen Patterson, 48, of Vidor died Saturday, November 13, 2010 due to injuries received in an automobile accident in Port Arthur. James was born January 7, 1962 in Houston to Chester Lee and Willie LaVelle (Robinson) Patterson. A resident of Vidor for most of his life, James was a truck driver for JBS Trucking in Port Arthur.
He is survived by his children, Ashton Leigh Correll of Florida, Kristen Leigh Patterson and Kaitlyn Nicole Patterson both of Nederland; the mother of his children, Shawnette Stiller of Nederland; his father, Chester Lee Patterson and his wife Grace of Village Mills; a brother, Jerry Lee Patterson, Sr. of Vidor; sisters, Billie Henry and her husband Gene of Oakdale, Louisiana, Jodie Williams and her husband Terry of Vidor; step-brother, Lawrence Simmons of Kountze; his fiance’, Pamela Perkins of Oakdale, Louisiana; nieces and nephews, Ken and Michelle Perkins, Chester Patterson, Anna Perkins, Jerry Lee Patterson, Jr., Jamie Ray Lee Patterson, Delbert Eugene Perkins, Terry Ray and Amber Williams, Digger Perkins, Brad Williams and Eric Williams; twenty great nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Willie Patterson.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Broussard’s in Kountze with Reverend Ritchard Bean and Reverend Greg Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
