Patty Sanderson, 48, of Nederland, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.  Born October 28, 1962, in Port Arthur to John and Shirley Verret, Patty was a lifelong resident of the area and was a longtime elementary school teacher with Nederland Independent School District.   

Survivors include her husband, Wes Sanderson; daughter, Catherine Anne Sanderson; sons, Will Sanderson and Walt Sanderson, all of Nederland; parents, John and Shirley Verret of Winnie; sister, Pam VanBoskirk and her husband Scott of Nederland; brother, Hoss Verret and his wife Shanna of Hamshire; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at First United Methodist Church of Nederland, with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  A gathering of her family and friends will be Monday, November 15, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
