Joan Michelle “Joni” Clark, 41, of Beaumont, died Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Born in Albany, Georgia on July 13, 1969, to Nancy C. and Roger Sherrill Meek, she was a payroll clerk and former respiratory therapist.
After moving to Beaumont with her family at the age of 6, Joni has been an active and faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Through the years she has served in the Sunday school program, as an acolyte, Altar Guild Chairman, Fellowship Committee Chairman, the soup kitchen at Some Other Place and many other volunteer services of the church. Joni was very dedicated to Elizabeth and her activities. She served on the P.T.A. board for four years at Dishman Elementary and helped with many class parties.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Clark of Beaumont; daughters, Elizabeth Sherrill Clark of Beaumont and Candy Guffey of Summerset, Kentucky; grandchildren, Ethan, Caleb and Kaitlyn; parents, Nancy and Roger Meek of Beaumont; sisters, Lesley Biscamp and Robin Meek, both of Beaumont and Lauren Hancock and her husband Steve of Montgomery; niece, Lindsey; nephews, Nicolas and Jeremy.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 777 North 4th Street, Beaumont, with a private burial to follow under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2010, at Broussard’s and on Monday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service at the church.
