Cristin Jeanell Grubbs, 12, and Katie Michelle Grubbs, 11, of Nederland died November 6, 2010.  Cristin and Katie were born in Port Arthur and were former residents of Lumberton and residents of Nederland since 2007.   

Cristin was a 7th grade student at C O Wilson Middle School and was involved in athletics and played softball.  She was on the All-stars Softball team, was a cheerleader for NYFA and took tumbling classes at FX.

Katie was a 5th grade student at C O Wilson Middle School and was Vice President of the Student Council. She was a cheerleader for NYFA and took tumbling classes at FX.

Survivors include their mother and stepfather, Sandy Anne and Wesley A. Nugent of Nederland; father, Grant Edward Grubbs of Lumberton; stepsister, Kortni Faye Nugent of Nederland; grandparents, James and Phyllis Wilkey of Beauxart Gardens, Glenn and Jeanell Green of Huntsville, Eddie Grubbs of Silsbee, and Irvin and Theresa Nugent of Iowa, Louisiana; great grandmother, Lera Sartain of Newton; aunts, Carrie Hightower and her husband Gary of Port Neches, Hollie Singleton and her husband Steven of Nederland, Amber Lemons and her husband Robert of Stephenville, and Mandy Gross of Austin; uncles, Irvin Nugent and his wife Debbie, David Nugent and his wife Debbie, Chris Nugent, and Travis  Nugent and his wife Jessica all of Iowa, Louisiana; great aunts, Shirley Rodgers of Lumberton and Frances Weller and her husband Terry of Austin; great uncles, Gary Dean and his wife Barbara of Beauxart Gardens and Larry Dean and his wife Paula of Tomball.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3515 Helena, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening, November 9, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  at the church.
